ABOUT NLC

NLC is a * Christian Gnostic Ministry,  founded in 1999 to assist those in life who are seeking a Spiritual connection with their Creator and redemption from the burdens of a chaotic world that is struggling between good and evil.

We are an "Outreach Ministry", choosing not to use our resources to build grand churches or temples, but rather to help the needy, to serve the community. We meet in groups and gather often for services and Communion in which the Holy Sacrament is received. We give thanks for what we have and to seek guidance for what we can do to improve our common human existence.

NLC's religious direction is of  Truth through personal knowledge….. “and the Truth shall set you free”. We are esoteric in our seeking, following the Gnostic ways and doctrines established over two thousand years ago.

Some of our creed and philosophy was echoed by Dr. C. G. Jung, a well known pioneer in the world of the psyche. Jung believed that religion can be viewed from a psychological perspective. Psychology "opens peoples' eyes to the real meaning of dogmas". For Jung, religious experiences and ideas are found in the human psyche and not in the supernatural. He developed a particular interest in Gnosticism and claimed that the Gnostics were great psychologists.

Jung believed there were "Three Stages" of religious evolution. The first stage was the archaic age of Shamans. This was followed by the ancient civilization of prophets and priests. Then came the Christian heritage of mystics. At every stage of religious history all human beings share the inner divinity, the "numinous". Within the psyche, the divine and the self merge.

Just like Jesus blinded Paul on the road to Damascus through a Gnostic encounter , we experience Gnosis through divine revelation. As we have learned, one becomes a Gnostic through ascension of Consciousness. The Key to attaining Spirit or God Consciousness is through growing in Holiness which comes about through inner knowledge with Sophia, the Holy Spirit, and reading of the Word to attain a personal Knowledge or Gnosis of God.

Many people get turned off by Christianity. They hate the rules, the religion, and the hypocrisy. They hate the limitations on sin; they hate the thought of Jesus of Nazareth, the Revealer,  as being the Way to Enlightment. In the same Way, many people, even most Christians, get turned off by the word "Gnostic." They consider us to be some evil sect or cult of Satan. But we challenge that concept. We hope to help the Christian become Gnostic, filled by the Holy Spirit Sophia, so that they too may have a personal knowledge of God.

In fact, we assert that the first Twelve Apostles of Jesus of Nazareth and even Paul became Gnostic in their Highest state of advancement. The invisible Manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the Apostles then became such a profoundly personal and mysterious experience that it defied all explanation to the ordinary man. Consequently, disagreements arose concerning us Gnostics, or "Knowers of God", even within the "Church" that has lasted to this day. For over 2000 years we have been exiled and exterminated because our beliefs took away the control of the Roman Catholic Church….controls the conquering Romans, and later governments,  needed to keep the masses in place. Gnostics did not agree with their social manipulation. However, our means to communicate our beliefs, the written Word,  were all but destroyed by 325 AD when Constantine and the Council of Nicea Canonized the Bible. The religious establishment did not want to encourage freethinking. In 1185 AD the Pope took another step at destroying common religious practices by banning the use of Cannabis as a sacrament, knowing full well that it was used in the Holy Anointing Oil for Aaron and his sons in Exodus 30:22 – 30:33, and that this herb was a gift given to us by our Creator in the book of Genesis, first book of the Bible, first chapter. One may also want to read Ezekiel 34:29 and Psalms 104:14.

We are ever mindful that God is Love. So, we strive to become Love to come closer to God. How? We study the Word or Divine Knowledge, including the Gnostic Scriptures written by the Disciples of Jesus of Nazareth like Thomas, Philip, Mary Magdalene, Andrew, Peter, Bartholomew, and others. We strive to become righteous and holy, and fervently abandon ourselves to this wonder we call Love, until we finally touch God. For when we become Love, we become Gnostics, Sons and Daughters of God in intimate Communion with the Creator of All.

* The Gnostic can be distinguished from an agnostic in that the agnostic holds the view that our Creator is probably unknowable in this life. The Gnostic seeks esoteric knowledge of the Spiritual Truth of our Creator, not accepting religious obedience of doctrine on blind faith, but through experienced personal Truth.
